Dear prospective students!

The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad enrolled its 60th generation of students in the year 2014-2015.

We are an institution with a rich tradition in education, and we have successfully been dessiminating knowledge and promoting excellence in the field of the social sciences and humanities for the past six decades. We have been doing so on three levels of academic studies − bachelor, master and doctoral studies, where we implement 45 accredited programmes. In accordance with the highest European standards on higher education, the Faculty teaches future experts in different philological sciences, history, psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, sociology, media studies and communication studies.

Professors and associates have been chosen according to strict criteria. Many of them used to be amongst the best students of our Faculty, and today they develop cooperation with respected faculties in the region and worldwide, from Europe to China. Thanks to this cooperation, foreign professors and students (from Spain, Portugal, Italy, England, Germany, France, Austria, Czech Republic, China, Russia, Turkey and others) are welcome at our Faculty, and our students have the opportunity to spend at least one semester studying abroad.

A diploma from the Faculty of Philosophy is proof of high professional competence, as well as a developed ability to acknowledge and understand others and the world around us. The Faculty of Philosophy is a multicultural environment open to differences, nurturing the spirit of tolerance.

It is an honour and privilege not just to learn and conduct research, but also to work at the Faculty of Philosophy, in conditions which encourage the full development of personal potentials, while stimulating individuality and nurturing the team spirit.

WHY SHOULD YOU STUDY AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY?

If you were to ask me why you should study at the Faculty of Philosophy, the answer certainly would not be easy. Clichés such as great professors, following contemporary trends and achieving quality academic education certainly present an answer, but it is not an answer that says enough. To enrol at the Faculty is an honour, a chance to become a part of a great family of successful and educated people.
